The Butlers Pantry

The Butlers Pantry is ideal whether you are looking for a romantic break or simply a special dog friendly holiday in Flixton Suffolk. We provide you the opportunity to relax in the tranquil surroundings of a Victorian rectory in grounds of 7 acres in Suffolk. Our 4 one bedroom cottages have been decorated and furnished to a very high standard with period features retained. All have CH, well equipped modern kitchens, dishwasher, fridge freezer, integral cooker and microwave, TV, Freeview, DVD and music centre, plenty of books and games and use of a DVD library, Ordnance Survey maps and binoculars. Ideal self-catering holiday cottages for discerning adults or couples & their dog Short breaks. 4* rated.

We make no extra charge for dogs (maximum 2 per cottage). What we do ask is that dogs are kept off of the furniture; supervised both inside and outside of the cottages, and never left in the cottages by themselves.

We can also provide you with details of which local beaches allow dogs - so a run along the beach may be one of the highlights of their holiday. We look forward to welcoming you and your dog to The Old Rectory

Accommodation: 4* Quality in Tourism

This property sleeps up to 2.
If you are a romantic then this is the cottage for you. A beautiful conversion from the servants quarters has resulted in a stylish comfortable property which has been furnished with individually selected pieces. The Butler's Pantry is accessed via 13 steps into a Victorian brick courtyard. Both the kitchen and the wet room have high sloping ceilings, giving the cottage the air of spaciousness. The very large bedroom has an Edwardian Satinwood suite, and atmospheric lighting - the Butler's Pantry offers a real sanctuary for couples.

The Butler's Pantry features: Well equipped modern galley kitchen - Cosy lounge/dining room - A large bedroom suite with a double bed and an integral seating area - A massive wet room

Local Area - Firstly, within walking distance we have the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum and St Peters Brewery. The village's own Museum houses 50 aircraft; a large inside display, as well as buildings showing the history of other aviation related organisations- Very interesting for aircraft enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike.

The Old Rectory offers an excellent base for guests who wish to walk, cycle, fish or watch birds.

For walkers there are numerous footpaths including the Angles Way and Bigod Way- all of the cottages have Ordnance Survey Maps and we also have a small library of books detailing local walks.

Anglers are well catered for with plenty of local fishing spots (we have compiled a list of local fishing facilities) whilst The Godric Way provides a selection of cycle routes.

Gardeners are spoilt for choice with many interesting gardens in the area; some of the best can be found at Somerleyton, Wyken Hall and East Ruston - there are also a large number of private gardens that open under the NGS. Or why not visit Bressingham Gardens where you can enjoy a ride through the glorious gardens created by Alan and Adrian Bloom on one of the four working railways and visit the national "Dad's Army" collection . Short breaks. 4* rated.

We are dog friendly! There are plenty of dog friendly walks around the cottages, and you can exercise them in our 5 acre field which is full of the scents left by rabbits and pheasants.

There are woodland and excellent country lane walks without even having to get into your car.

We have even compiled a list of pubs where dogs are welcome.
