Castle Acre is a pretty North-West Norfolk conservation village which is steeped in history and has a timeless quality to it. The Norman Castle earthworks and the beautiful ruins of the magnificent Cluniac Priory are the best preserved in the country. The village is sited on the ancient Peddars' Way, and the area offers ample opportunities for good walking and cycling. Peddars Cottage is a modern cottage style house next to the ancient Bailey Gate in the centre of the historic village of Castle Acre. It provides comfortable, well-equipped accommodation, and is close to the village shops and pub/restaurants, and only a short walk away from the castle, priory and river.
