Ridsdale is situated in the centre of Northumberland, just at the outskirt of Northumberland National Park, from where guests can explore the many historic sites, visitor attractions and wildlife.
Relax in a rocking chair....unwind....take in the dramatic views towards the Chiviot Hills and Scottish Borders and see why Northumberland is the land of the "big sky":
Step outside the cottage and take a walk into the hills or forest - miles of unspoilt nature and you probably won't see another person but wild birds, deer, red squirrels........
Take a drive to Kielder Water, the largest reservoir and man made forest in Europe, for walking, cycling, watersport or fishing (seasonal).
Visit Hadrians Wall, Roman Forts and other historic sites.
Travel North over the Scottish Border to explore historic towns such as Jedburgh or Hawick or for a day trip to Edinburgh or head South to visit the old market town Hexham or Corbridge.
The beautiful Northumberland Coast with its deserted sandy beaches, picturesque fishing villages and castles is only about an hours drive away.
If you fancy a bit of shopping, bowling or funfair you can reach the Gateshead Metro Centre, the largest shopping and leisure comples in Europe, in just 45 minutes.
Stroll down the track into the village ( 5 minutes) and enjoy a drink and a meal in the small, family friendly village pub.
